Aurora Hope — case study
A wellbeing and healing business selling sacred oils, sprays, candles, cards and bundles online — an atmospheric site built around full-screen video, with two interactive tools and a real shop underneath.
The project
What was needed
Aurora Hope wanted a site that felt like the brand: video, movement, a sense of place — not a template with a logo swapped in. Underneath that it had to be a working shop with seven product categories, bundles and product variants, delivery rules and card payment, and it had to sell from a phone.
The client also wanted the site to do something for visitors before they bought anything: a daily card draw from the Animal Magic deck, and a "Find Your Chiron" reading worked out from a date of birth — both editable by the owner without a developer.

Most web design is a choice between looks and function: an atmospheric site that can't take an order, or a capable shop that looks like every other shop. Aurora Hope is both — a visual, video-led brand experience with genuine e-commerce, bespoke interactive tools and an owner-run admin beneath it. Built for the screen most people use
Most visitors to a site like this arrive on a phone, often on mobile data. Every page is designed for that first — readable, tappable, quick — and then scaled up to a desktop, not the other way round.
Technical notes
How it's built
Custom Laravel + React application: the front end is code, not a block editor, which is what makes the video-led design possible
Background video encoded and trimmed for the web so it doesn't weigh the home page down on a phone — autoplay, muted, no plugins
Shop module with variants, bundles, shipping drivers and Stripe, including the webhooks that confirm payment; sandbox mode locked off in production
The Chiron tool computes the sign from the date of birth and serves the owner-editable reading for it
Card deck, readings and products each have an admin screen; a 404 log and redirects keep old links working
Separate main, staging and production branches with a gated release process

Live at aurorahope.net, taking orders. We host it, maintain it and keep building it with the client.
